Lot 594: A Collection of Sterling Silver Victorian and Other Metallic Items, including Spoons, Thimbles, and a Decorative Knob
A collection of sterling silver and other metallic items comprising a decorative metallic knob, two ornate spoons, and five thimbles. The knob is silver-toned, round, and deeply fluted with a shell-like spiral pattern. The first spoon features a silver-toned bowl with engraved floral motifs and an off-white handle, likely bone or mother-of-pearl. The second spoon, also silver-toned, has an elaborate handle with a crown-like finial and “VR” monogram; its bowl is engraved with a crowned bust and text, clearly reading “V. R. QUEEN, ” “SILVER JUBILEE, ” and dates “1837-1887.” The thimbles include three silver-toned metal examples, one with intricate floral engraving and two with standard dimpling, and two brass or gold-toned metal thimbles with dimpled surfaces.
