DECEMBER SALE
Lot 58:
A collection of Japanese Kutani porcelain tableware, consisting of multiple handled teacups, matching saucers, a lidded teapot, a lidded sugar bowl, a creamer, and a larger dinner plate. The majority of the pieces are adorned with extensive gold gilt decoration featuring a landscape scene with trees, mountains, and flying birds, applied in a style suggestive of transferware, with all handles and finials also gilded. The prominent dinner plate, while sharing the central gilt landscape, features a distinct border decorated with geometric and floral patterns in blue, green, and brown. Small white stickers marked “25” are visible on several items.
