Lot 542: An Autograph Book of 1950s Footballers, including players from Southport and Barrow
An autograph book containing a collection of signatures primarily from 1950s footballers. The small, vintage autograph book features a dark, possibly cloth-bound, hardcover. It contains numerous pages of varying pastel colors including light green, pink, yellow, and blue, all filled with multiple handwritten signatures in ink. Clearly legible names include Freddie Ready, A. Geelay, D. Nish, Jimmy Mullen, Jim Mulvaney, Dave Strop, Eric Harlaw, Jim Mullholland, Eric Curwen, George Andrews, Terry Harkin, David Pearson, and Ambrose Clarke. Additional vertical text on page edges reads “SOUTHPORT AND AINSDALE,” “BARROW AND SOUTHPORT,” and “LITTLE ASTON,” corroborating the football club affiliations.
