An antique English oak biscuit barrel, crafted in a barrel-form lidded container from dark-stained wood with a glossy finish. The round lid is topped with a dark, possibly ebonized wood or bakelite knob. The body displays horizontal grooved bands. A single metal bail handle attachment point with a swivel ring is visible on one side, suggesting it once had a full handle. Two adhesive labels are present on the lid: a white rectangular sticker printed with ’28’ and a smaller, irregularly cut orange sticker handwritten with ‘483.’
