A George III Carved Oak Eight-Day Longcase Clock by G. Parker Of Wigan
A George III carved oak eight-day longcase clock. The tall, dark-stained wooden case features extensive and deeply carved decoration in a foliate and stylized pattern across its pediment, hood, trunk door, and base. The brass dial is adorned with elaborate applied spandrels, Roman numerals for hours, smaller Arabic numerals for minutes, a seconds sub-dial, and a prominent moon phase indicator depicting a stylized sun face. The maker’s inscription ‘G. Parker Of Wigan’ is visible below the center of the dial.
