Lot 269: A Lord Nelson Ware Staffordshire Earthenware Jug with Transfer-Printed Landscape Decoration
A Staffordshire earthenware jug, produced by Elijah Cotton Ltd. under their ‘Lord Nelson Ware’ brand. The jug features a transfer-printed scenic landscape decoration depicting a lake, mountains, trees, and a small building. Along the bottom edge of the scene, a partial inscription reads “ttle Water from Angler’s…”. The base is marked with a clear backstamp reading “ELIJAH COTTON LTD”, “LORD NELSON WARE”, and “STAFFORDSHIRE ENGLAND”, accompanied by a crown-like emblem above and a ship motif below the ‘LORD NELSON WARE’ text.
