DECEMBER SALE
Lot 163:
A Japanese 19th Century Kutani red-ground figural vase, crafted from porcelain. The vase features an oviform body and a slightly flared rim. It is extensively decorated with polychrome enamel and gilt over a white ground, exhibiting visible craquelure consistent with age and style. The design includes painted panels depicting figures, likely court ladies or geishas, set within naturalistic landscapes. These figural panels are interspersed with intricate geometric, floral, and brocade patterns, predominantly in red, gold, and white. A white rectangular paper sticker marked “6” in purple is affixed to the upper body, partially overlapping an orange rectangular sticker marked “163” in black.
