Lot 152: Joseph Durward, Edinburgh, A George III Mahogany Eight-Day Longcase Clock, circa 1790
An eight-day longcase clock by Joseph Durward of Edinburgh, active 1775-1819. The clock features a mahogany case in a Georgian style, with an arched hood adorned with decorative brass finials. The brass dial displays Roman numerals for hours, Arabic numerals for minutes, and includes subsidiary dials. The arch of the dial is signed “DURWARD.” The trunk door opens to reveal the pendulum and weights.
