Lot 136:
An Elliott Bracket Clock, retailed by Garrard & Co Ltd, featuring a polished medium-brown wooden case with an arched top. The clock is fitted with a brass-toned decorative carrying handle and stands on a stepped base with four metal feet. The front is protected by a glass panel, revealing a multi-component dial. The main dial displays Roman numerals for hours and smaller Arabic numerals for minutes (15, 30, 45, 60) on a silvered chapter ring. An inner brass-toned face is adorned with etched foliate scrolls and ornate black hands. Visible text on the main dial includes “Garrard & Co Ltd”, “112 Regent Street London”, “AN Elliott CLOCK”, and “MADE IN ENGLAND”. Above the main dial, a smaller, circular auxiliary dial bears the Latin inscription “Tempus Fugit” (Time Flies). The dial is further embellished with elaborate brass-toned spandrels featuring cherubic faces and scrollwork.
