The underside of one piece features a prominent maker’s mark for “Portmeirion” and “THE BOTANIC GARDEN,” further specifying “SINCE 1818” and “MADE IN BRITAIN.” The mark also details “OVEN TO TABLE,” “DISHWASHER SAFE,” “MICROWAVE SAFE,” and “FREEZER SAFE” capabilities. A visible copyright date of “© 1972” is present on the maker’s mark. Scientific plant names such as “CYCLAMEN REPANDUM,” “ERYSIMUM HELVETICUM,” “RHODODENDRON,” “IRIS,” “ACONITUM,” and “PAEONIA” are featured around a central crest.
