A Pair of Gouda Pottery Vases
A matching pair of Gouda pottery vases. Each vase features a bulbous body, a short neck, and a flared rim. The majority of each vase is covered in a deep green glaze, exhibiting distinct craquelure, and decorated with stylized organic or floral motifs rendered in dark blue, yellow-orange, and light blue outlining, presented in a raised, low-relief manner. The upper neck and a band above the base feature a contrasting cream-colored glaze, accentuated by blue lines. The overall aesthetic suggests an Arts and Crafts or Art Nouveau influence. Both vases are marked with an orange adhesive label bearing the handwritten number ’78’.
