A Late Victorian Painted Chest of Drawers
A late Victorian painted chest of drawers, constructed of wood. It features a light-toned natural wood top, contrasting with a body finished in a pale greige paint. The chest is configured with six drawers: two smaller drawers positioned across the top, followed by four larger, full-width drawers below. Each drawer is fitted with a simple, matching painted round wooden knob. The drawer fronts are horizontally grooved or reeded. Some drawers show evidence of former keyholes or damage where they might have been. The chest is supported by simple bracket feet. Markings include an orange sticker with “427” and a white sticker with “7” on the top surface. One knob appears to have faint text, possibly “PCTP”.
