A Pair of Border Fine Arts James Herriot 'All Things Wise And Wonderful' Collector's Plates, including 'In From The Cold'
A pair of ceramic decorative wall plates by Border Fine Arts, from the James Herriot ‘All Things Wise And Wonderful’ collection. The first plate depicts a pastoral scene featuring a shepherd leaning on a staff beside a stone wall, surrounded by sheep and a dog in a green, hilly landscape. The second plate, titled ‘In From The Cold’ as indicated by its box label, illustrates an interior scene with several dogs and lambs gathered warmly around a blazing fireplace, resting on a newspaper visibly marked ‘The Yorkshire Post’. This plate is signed by artist ‘A. Hellyer’. Both plates feature a gold-toned rim and are likely porcelain or fine china. They are presented within their original-style blue boxes. A partial ‘WEDGWOO’ text is visible on an adjacent box not directly associated with these plates.
