OCTOBER SALE
Lot 257:
A Border Fine Arts figurine group by Ray Ayres, crafted from hand-painted resin or a similar composite material, depicting a detailed pastoral scene. The group features a male shepherd figure wearing a flat cap, brown jacket, yellow shirt, and blue trousers, holding a crook, positioned next to a wooden gate. Surrounding him are several sheep, including adults with black faces and horns, and at least one lamb, alongside a black-and-white sheepdog. The figures are arranged on a textured green base resembling grass, with an integrated stone wall, all mounted on a polished dark brown wooden plinth. The style is realistic, suggesting a 20th or 21st-century production. A small white label with the number “19” is affixed to the wooden base.
