OCTOBER SALE
Lot 252:
This diverse collection comprises glazed ceramic and porcelain items, featuring both tableware and decorative pieces. The tableware includes various teacups, saucers, a teapot, and pitchers. Decorative elements consist of assorted figurines and a fan-shaped ornament. Styles range from polychrome floral motifs, notably those with green chinoiserie-inspired borders and yellow scrolling, to commemorative and culturally specific designs. A prominent large white tankard, identified as a King George V Silver Jubilee Beaker from 1935, features a gold crowned ‘GR’ monogram within a wreath and a banner inscribed ‘KING GEORGE AND QUEEN MARY.’ A small white vase displays black East Asian characters, ‘忘心忘花’ (wàng xīn wàng huā), translating to ‘Forget heart, forget flower, ‘ accented with stippled patterns. Additionally, a small bowl includes a distinct blue eye motif at its base and partially visible text ‘KEEP’ on its side. Most pieces exhibit gold trim or gilding.
