A collection of vintage film and entertainment publications, primarily featuring ‘The MGM Story’ by John Douglas Eames. This large format book is titled ‘THE COMPLETE HISTORY OF FIFTY-SEVEN ROARING YEARS,’ detailing ‘ALL 1,738 FILMS OF M-G-M DESCRIBED AND ILLUSTRATED IN COLOUR AND BLACK-AND-WHITE,’ with ‘St Michael’ visible on its spine, dating from the mid to late 20th century. Also included is a tan paper ‘Portrait Portfolio of Screen Stars,’ featuring a partially visible blue fabric tie, and listing classic Hollywood figures such as Norma Shearer, Clark Gable, Greta Garbo, Ramon Novarro, Sally Eilers, James Dunn, Marlene Dietrich, John Stuart, Ronald Colman, Mae Clarke, Sylvia Sidney, and Madge Evans, placing its style and period firmly within the Golden Age of Hollywood. A plain red book or folio is also present, along with the spine of a book titled ‘LESTER PIGGOTT.’ The items are housed within a generic cardboard box, originally for frozen food products.
