A Two-Piece Blue and White Ceramic Planter and Willow Pattern Underplate
A two-piece blue and white glazed ceramic ensemble, comprising a rectangular planter or cachepot and a circular underplate. The planter features molded fish-like decoration along its sides, adorned with stylized blue floral and foliage patterns on a white ground, and presents a plain white interior with a contrasting dark blue rim. The accompanying underplate displays a classic Willow Pattern motif, rendered in cobalt blue on a white ceramic body with a distinctive decorative border. Both pieces exhibit significant crazing across their glazes and show general surface dirt and minor wear consistent with age and use. Two auction stickers are visible on the planter: an orange one marked ‘181’, and a white one displaying ‘6’ on its molded decoration.
