Lot 174:
A pair of antique salt glazed stoneware jars, each with a squat, rounded body and prominent loop handles on the shoulders. Both feature a mottled reddish-brown glaze. One jar is topped with a light celadon-green glazed ceramic lid, while the other features a flat wooden lid with a rectangular handle. Decorative bands encircle the body of each jar; one displays an impressed frieze of stylized, possibly pictographic or pseudo-runic symbols flanked by dotted lines, and the other features impressed wavy lines. An orange sticker bearing the number “174” is affixed to both lids.
