Vintage St. Lucia Hand-Carved Wood Folk Art Tableau with Maritime Scene
A vintage hand-carved wooden decorative tableau, likely 20th century, featuring two stylized human figures in profile. The figures, crafted from varying shades of stained wood, are seated and appear to interact with objects between them, possibly drums. They flank a central circular insert, which consists of a deeply carved wooden frame surrounding a ceramic tile or printed image. This insert depicts a bustling classical harbor scene with a large sailing ship and smaller vessels, reminiscent of 18th or 19th-century maritime art. The bases of the figures are inscribed with “ST.
