Lot 65: A Group of Blue and White Willow Pattern Ceramics Including a Toast Rack
A group of blue and white transfer-printed ceramics in the traditional Willow pattern, comprising tea wares and a toast rack. The pieces are decorated with underglaze blue transfer designs depicting pagodas, figures on a bridge, a willow tree, and two doves. The teacups and saucers are finished with gilded rims. The teacups feature scroll handles and the saucers have scalloped edges. The ceramic toast rack includes four arched dividers with a blue wash finish and a transfer-printed end panel. A white rectangular label on one saucer is printed with the number 7 7 and an orange sticker on a plate reads 65.
Condition report:
General wear and rubbing to the gilded rims consistent with age and use. The toast rack shows minor glaze thinning or stilt marks on the upper edges of the dividers. No significant chips, cracks, or restorations are visible.
