Lot 64: A Large Collection of Poole Pottery Twintone Tableware in Sepia and Mushroom Colourway
This extensive collection of Poole Pottery Twintone earthenware tableware is finished in the Sepia and Mushroom (C54) colourway, featuring a matte chocolate brown interior or exterior contrasted with a pale mushroom beige. The set exhibits the streamlined, mid-century modern forms characteristic of the period. The service comprises multiple teapots and hot water or coffee jugs in varying sizes, two-handled lidded tureens, an assortment of dinner plates, side plates, and saucers, various styles of tea and coffee cups, milk jugs, gravy boats with integral stands, a large rectangular divided serving tray, shaped oval serving dishes, and salt and pepper casters. Items bear the Poole Pottery factory mark to the base, consisting of a central dolphin emblem with POOLE above and ENGLAND below within a square border, a mark used from the 1950s.
Condition report:
The collection is in good used condition overall. Some pieces show light surface scratches consistent with age and use, and minor crazing may be present on some items. Several pieces have adhesive price or lot labels. One small blue and white floral dish visible in the images is not part of this lot.
