Lot 40: A Large Turned Wood Platter with Pressed Botanical Inlay Rim
A large circular platter featuring a central well turned from a light-coloured wood with a prominent natural grain. The wide, dark-stained rim is inset with various pressed botanical specimens, including hydrangea blossoms and individual leaves in autumnal tones, all set beneath a clear glossy resin finish. The piece retains two adhesive labels on the front: a small orange sticker with handwritten characters and a white rectangular label printed 10 10.
Condition report:
The platter shows signs of age and use. The central wood well has visible surface scratches and a small radial crack. The decorative rim exhibits crazing to the clear finish, surface scuffing, and minor chipping to the lacquer at the edges.
