Lot 318: A Collection of 20th-century Chinese Famille Rose Mun Shou Pattern Porcelain Tableware
A collection of Chinese porcelain tableware decorated in the Famille Rose palette in the Mun Shou (Wan Shou Wu Jiang) pattern. The group comprises several side plates, several small bowls, one small dish, and a large white porcelain deep bowl. The decorated pieces feature a vibrant red ground with overall scrolling foliate and cloud motifs. Each decorated item is set with four white circular medallions containing the Chinese characters Wan (萬), Shou (壽), Wu (無), and Jiang (疆), which together translate to longevity without end. The rims are finished with a polychrome Greek key meander border in shades of turquoise, yellow, and blue. The large bowl is finished in a plain white glaze. These pieces are characteristic of mid-to-late 20th-century production, frequently associated with the Jingdezhen kilns, although no specific maker marks are visible.
Condition report:
The collection appears to be in good overall condition with bright and well-preserved enamels. No significant chips, cracks, or visible repairs were noted upon inspection. Minor surface wear consistent with age and stacking may be present. Several pieces have adhesive auction lot stickers that require removal.
