Lot 257h: A Wedgwood Beatrix Potter Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle Child's Nursery Cup and Saucer
This set comprises a child’s ceramic cup and matching saucer from the Beatrix Potter series by Wedgwood. The pieces are decorated with transfer-printed illustrations and excerpts from the story The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle. The cup features a central illustration of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle and Benjamin Bunny. A border of narrative text runs around the rim of the saucer, including the lines that they met were and rabbit and Benjamin Bunny! And so. Further text is printed along the inner rim of the cup. The set is presented with its original cardboard packaging, which identifies the contents as a Mrs Tiggy-Winkle Nursery Set by Wedgwood.
Condition report:
The cup and saucer are in good condition with no chips, cracks, or restoration apparent. An orange adhesive label is present on the saucer. The original cardboard box shows significant signs of age and wear, including surface scuffing and staining.
