Lot 148: A large Crown Ducal tubelined earthenware charger in the style of Charlotte Rhead
A large circular glazed earthenware charger, hand-decorated in the style of Charlotte Rhead for Crown Ducal. The decoration features a tubelined pattern consisting of alternating green and dark brown stylized S-scroll motifs on a cream-coloured ground. The design is framed by concentric ochre bands and a border of dark brown dots, finished with a scalloped green rim. The glazes exhibit a high-gloss finish with the characteristic raised texture of tubelining. The face of the charger bears an orange rectangular auction sticker with the number 148 and a small white square sticker with the number 7. No maker’s marks are visible from the front.
Condition report:
The charger is in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or restoration. The glaze remains bright and lustrous. Adhesive auction stickers are present on the face of the piece.
