Lot 133: Dinky Toys Bedford Pullmore Car Transporter Model No. 982
A Dinky Toys (Meccano Ltd) Bedford Pullmore Car Transporter, model number 982, manufactured in Liverpool, England. This articulated toy vehicle is constructed from die-cast metal and features a blue Bedford tractor unit with blue-painted metal hubs and rubber tyres. The detachable two-tier trailer is finished in a light blue-grey colour. The sides of the lower deck feature a light blue horizontal band with the printed lettering DINKY TOYS DELIVERY SERVICE in dark blue. The trailer includes a functional lowering rear ramp designed for the loading and unloading of die-cast cars.
Condition report:
This item is in well-played-with condition. There is significant and widespread paint loss, chipping, and surface abrasions to both the cab and the trailer, particularly along the raised edges and corners. Visible oxidisation is present on the metal surfaces where the paint has worn away. The rubber tyres are present on all wheels; however, one tyre on the rear dual axle shows significant cracking and splitting. The rear ramp is present and appears to be in working order. A small, non-original orange and white adhesive label is adhered to the top deck. This item is offered without its original box or packaging.
