Lot 7: A Collection of Portmeirion Botanic Garden Earthenware
A group of British ceramics from the Portmeirion Botanic Garden range, a design created by Susan Williams-Ellis. This assortment comprises various pieces of white glazed earthenware, including a large shallow bowl or soup plate, a deep rectangular serving dish, and nesting bowls, alongside a stack of saucers and cups. Each item is decorated with the characteristic green leaf-wrap border to the rim and features detailed transfer-printed botanical subjects. The prominent soup plate depicts Solanum Dulcamara, also known as Woody Nightshade, showing the plant with its purple and yellow flowers and red berries, accompanied by several moths. The face of this piece includes the printed text SOLANUM DULCAMARA and Woody Nightshade. Other pieces within the collection display varied floral illustrations from the same series.
Condition report:
The pieces appear to be in good condition overall. There are no obvious chips, cracks, or signs of repair visible. Orange paper auction labels are present on several items.
