A large machine-made area rug featuring a traditional Persian-inspired design. The central field is finished in a light tan colour and decorated with scattered floral and foliate sprays. This field is framed by a substantial multi-layered border, with the primary band in forest green containing intricate scrolling floral motifs and palmettes in cream, tan, and black. The rug is power-loomed and features a coarse, uniform secondary backing typical of modern commercial carpets. The edges are finished with a machine-overlocked binding. The pile is characteristic of synthetic fibres such as polypropylene or a wool-synthetic blend.
