Lot 377A: British School, 20th Century, 'A Collection of Landscapes'
A collection of framed artworks, primarily featuring landscape subjects in various media including watercolour and print on paper. The visible works include a vertical composition of a tree reflected in water, housed in a moulded gilt-effect frame with a neutral-toned slip. Another prominent piece is a horizontal mountain landscape depicting two sheep on a hillside, presented in a green-painted frame with a gold-tone inner fillet and a wide green mount. Additional framed pieces are included in the lot, with some partially obscured works appearing to be executed on papyrus depicting traditional Egyptian motifs. Small orange auction lot labels and white circular stickers with the number 7 are affixed to several of the frames and glass surfaces. The overall style and subject matter of the landscapes are characteristic of 20th-century British representational art.
Condition report:
The artworks appear to be in generally good condition. Some minor toning and discolouration are visible on the mounts and paper of the partially obscured pieces. The frames show light surface wear, dust, and minor scuffing consistent with age and handling.
