Lot 865: A Set of Sterling Silver The Sovereign Queens Spoon Collection Member's Edition Spoons
A set of sterling silver commemorative spoons from The Sovereign Queens Spoon Collection, Member’s Edition. Each spoon features a circular medallion at the terminal with a profile portrait of a British Queen, finished in a gold-coloured wash. The stems are designed with a twisted rope-like texture leading to plain oval bowls. The collection is presented in a fitted wooden case with a dark red velvet-lined base and a cream silk-lined lid, which is printed with the name of the collection. Hallmarks are present on the reverse of the stems near the junction with the bowls, but the individual characters are not clearly legible.
Single spoon weight: 25.52g.
Condition report:
The spoons show surface tarnishing and a dark patina, particularly concentrated within the bowls, which is consistent with age and storage. The wooden presentation case is in good overall condition with minor shelf wear and includes adhesive stickers on the exterior.
