Lot 862: An Assortment of Vintage Costume Jewellery and Devotional Items
This lot features an assortment of vintage costume jewellery and metalwork accessories. Included is a wide copper-tone cuff bracelet with hammered textured edges and incised geometric decorations along the central band. A second, narrower cuff is rendered in polished silver-tone metal. The collection contains a mid-century style gold-tone foliate brooch set with a large, faceted amber-coloured glass or synthetic stone. Also present is an articulated silver-tone link bracelet with heavy rectangular and oval segments. Devotional items include a silver-tone finger rosary featuring a Greek key pattern border, a cross finial, and ten prayer beads. The grouping further includes intricate silver-tone filigree badges, one of which incorporates a central medallion depicting a crest or building. Additional pieces comprise a crescent moon ornament pavé-set with clear faceted rhinestones and a circular openwork brooch with a scalloped border, fitted with a safety chain and a small key-shaped charm.
Condition report:
The items show general wear and surface marks consistent with age and use. Tarnish is visible on several silver-tone pieces, particularly the filigree badges and the finger rosary. The copper-tone cuff exhibits a darkened patina and some light surface scratching. The stones in the foliate brooch and crescent moon ornament appear to be intact and secure. Pin fasteners and safety chains are present but have not been tested for mechanical functionality.
