Lot 861: A Collection of Moonstone and White Metal Drop Earrings
A collection of matched drop earrings, each featuring cabochon moonstones set in white metal, presumably silver. The collection includes pairs with decorative scrolling wirework bezel settings and beaded clusters, pieces with oval rainbow moonstones in plain rub-over mounts showing blue adularescence, and graduated double-drop designs featuring rainbow moonstones with multi-coloured flashes and trefoil beaded terminals. All earrings are suspended from French hook earwires. No hallmarks or maker’s marks are visible.
Condition report:
Good overall condition. The metal surfaces exhibit a natural dark patina and tarnish, particularly within the recessed areas of the decorative settings. The stones appear secure in their mounts with no significant chips or cracks visible to the naked eye.
