Lot 860: A Marcasite Necklace and a Pair of Matching Earrings
A vintage-style jewellery set comprising a necklace and a pair of matching earrings, presented in a blue velvet-lined gift box. The set is crafted from a silver-toned metal and is pavé-set throughout with numerous small, faceted marcasite stones. The necklace features an intricate, symmetrical central element with an openwork design, consisting of a central bow-like motif with loops, flanked by scrolled and foliate-inspired details. The necklace is finished with a fine trace chain that incorporates two larger leaf-shaped links. The matching earrings feature a circular, openwork scroll design. The box contains a white label printed with the numbers 17 17 and a small orange label with the handwritten number 860.
Condition report:
The set appears to be in good vintage condition. All marcasite stones appear to be present upon visual inspection. There is light surface wear to the metal and the presentation box consistent with age and use.
