A vintage novelty nutcracker cast in solid brass, designed in the form of a pair of lady’s legs. The piece is constructed in two sections, hinged at the top to create a crushing mechanism between the thighs. The legs are depicted with simple, stylized lines terminating in small feet. The surface features a polished finish with areas of natural oxidation and tarnish typical for its age. No permanent maker’s marks or stamps are visible on the metal surface. Two temporary adhesive labels are present: an orange rectangular tag handwritten with the characters 827 and a white circular tag printed with the number 16. These are temporary auction inventory markers and do not indicate the manufacturer.
Condition report:
The item appears to be in good functional condition. It shows light surface wear, minor pitting consistent with the casting process, and a varied patina across the brass surface commensurate with age and use.
