Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

A late 19th or early 20th-century mahogany glazed cabinet top in the George III style. The piece is constructed from mahogany with a polished reddish-brown finish and features a broken swan-neck pediment. The twin doors are fitted with astragal glazing in a geometric pattern, characterised by a central elongated hexagonal or diamond-shaped motif in each door. The interior is fitted with two wooden shelves finished to match the exterior. The doors are mounted with external brass hinges and a central shaped brass escutcheon plate. This item is the upper section of a two-part furniture piece, as indicated by the unfinished bottom edge and its overall proportions.

Condition report:

The item is in good structural condition but is missing the central decorative finial from the pediment. It is currently detached from its original base section. There are minor surface scratches and scuffs to the timber finish consistent with age and use. All glass panes appear intact.
