Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

A two-part mahogany bureau-bookcase in the Queen Anne style. The upper section features a double-domed cornice over two glazed doors with astragal glazing bars. The lower bureau section has a slant-front flap opening to a fitted interior with pigeonholes and small drawers, positioned above three graduated long drawers. The drawer fronts are decorated with book-matched veneers and cross-banded borders, fitted with decorative brass-plate drop handles and keyhole escutcheons. The piece is raised on traditional bracket feet. This cabinet is a 20th-century reproduction of 18th-century Georgian designs, in the manner of manufacturers such as Henredon or Bevan-Funnell. The construction displays high-quality veneers and period-correct hardware, though no maker’s labels are visible.

Condition report:

The bureau-bookcase appears in good overall condition with minor surface marks and light abrasions to the wood finish consistent with age and use. The glazed panels are intact. There are paper lot labels attached to the glass doors from prior processing. The hardware appears original and well-secured.
