Lot 674: A Neoclassical Style Silver-Toned and Cut Glass Table Lamp and an Additional Ornamental Lampshade
This lot comprises a decorative table lamp in the neoclassical style, reminiscent of designs by Berman, along with an additional ornamental lampshade. The lamp features a silver-toned metal base with a square, tiered foot supporting a faceted cut glass baluster-form stem. Above the glass section is a decorative metal collar featuring two scrolling acanthus-style arms. The lamp is fitted with a bell-shaped shade in pale blue-grey fabric, finished with scalloped edges, braided trim, and a decorative tassel. It is equipped with a gold-coloured flex and a standard white UK 3-pin plug. Included as an additional item is a multi-tiered lampshade in a shabby chic style, featuring cream pleated fabric accented with bands of sage-green velvet and silver-toned lace trim. The lower portion consists of two tiers of white lace, and the interior is lined with gathered pink fabric.
Condition report:
The lamp and shades are in fair used condition. There is visible surface wear and tarnishing to the metal base and scrolling arms consistent with age. The fabric shades show light signs of handling and typical wear. Electrical components are untested; it is recommended that the lamp be inspected and tested by a qualified electrician prior to use.
