Lot 481: A 20th Century Stained Hardwood Windsor Style Hoop Back Side Chair
A Windsor-style hoop-back side chair, likely dating from the 20th century. The construction features a steam-bent wooden hoop back enclosing four vertical spindles with simple turned details. It is fitted with a solid, shaped saddle seat, showing a prominent grain pattern consistent with elm or similar hardwood. The chair is supported by turned legs joined by stretchers. The entire piece has been finished with a dark brown stain. Two adhesive stickers are present on the seat: a yellow rectangular sticker with the handwritten characters 481 and a smaller white rectangular sticker with the digit 2. No maker’s marks or stamps are visible.
