Lot 458: A Collection of Assorted Fabric and Glass Lampshades
A collection of assorted lampshades in various materials and styles, comprising four distinct items. The lot includes a tiered conical fabric shade featuring a red and white vertical stripe pattern to the upper section finished with a cream-coloured pom-pom fringe, and a red and white gingham-checked lower section with a pleated, ruffled hem. Also included is a spherical opaque white milk glass globe shade with a raised, molded geometric lattice or pineapple texture. The third item is a flared, tulip-form opaque white glass shade decorated with molded vertical swirling ribbing expanding towards a ruffled rim. The fourth item is a large, clear cut glass or crystal shade of ovoid or pointed dome form, featuring traditional diamond and cross-hatch cut patterns throughout. Each item bears an orange rectangular inventory sticker handwritten with 458 and some also feature a small white square sticker with the digit 2. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible on the exterior of the items. These shades are characteristic of 20th-century British domestic lighting styles.

The collection is in generally good condition. The glass and crystal shades show no significant chips, cracks, or repairs upon visual inspection. The fabric shade appears intact with the fringe securely attached and no major staining or damage to the material.
