Lot 446: A Pair of Traditional Gold Toned Metal Table Lamps with Pleated Fabric Shades
A pair of table lamps in a traditional neoclassical style, constructed from cast metal with a gold-toned patinated finish. Each lamp features a central columnar stem decorated with fluted, gadrooned, and floral-inspired mouldings, set upon a tiered circular base. The lamps are fitted with tapered Empire-style pleated fabric shades in a dusty pink colour. Both lamps are wired with electrical cords and plastic inline switches. The overall design and finish are in the style of vintage lighting by manufacturers such as Stiffel.
Condition report:
The lamps show signs of previous use and age. There is visible rubbing and minor wear to the gold-toned finish on the metal components, particularly on the raised edges. One lamp is missing its top finial shade fastener. The fabric shades appear to be in good structural condition but show light surface dust and minor age-related wear. These electrical items have not been tested and must be professionally inspected and PAT tested by a qualified electrician prior to use.
