Two decorative wall mirrors in the Barbola style, likely dating from the 1930s to the 1950s. The first mirror is circular, featuring a frame of moulded composition floral motifs, including roses and daisies, hand-painted in shades of pink, yellow, and blue. The mirror plate is bevelled and secured to the frame by metal clips. The second mirror is oval with a gilt-finished frame and a green fluted or crimped border. It is decorated with a large, asymmetrical spray of hand-painted roses and foliage to the left side. This mirror also contains a bevelled glass plate. No maker marks or signatures are visible on either piece. Both mirrors retain auction room labels including orange tags numbered 443 and white numbered stickers.
Condition report:
Both mirrors show signs of age and use. The circular mirror has a visible separation crack in the moulded composition frame at the top edge and some general scuffing to the paint. The oval mirror shows minor losses and chipping to the delicate petals of the raised floral elements. Both mirror plates exhibit light surface wear and small areas of silvering loss or foxing around the peripheries, consistent with age.
