This lot comprises two separate items: a vintage board game and a portable stereo system. The first item is a Scrabble De Luxe board game manufactured by J. W. Spear and Sons Ltd under the Spear’s Games brand. The game is housed in its original dark green cardboard box featuring large white and gold-toned text. The Spear’s Games logo and model number 101 are visible on the side of the box. The second item is a portable stereo boombox finished in a two-tone blue and silver plastic casing. The unit features a top-loading CD player, a cassette deck with an automatic stop mechanism, and a PLL digital tuner with an integrated LCD display. The front panel includes a remote sensor and is marked with a logo consisting of a lowercase ‘d’ within a circular border. The unit is fitted with two front-facing speakers behind blue mesh grilles and an attached mains power lead.
Condition report:
The Scrabble box shows signs of age and storage, including rubbing to the edges and wear at the corners. It is currently held closed with a white string. The portable stereo shows surface scuffing and dust commensurate with age and handling. The internal components of the game have not been inventoried, and the stereo system has not been tested for electrical safety or operational functionality.
