Lot 201: A Victorian Style Floral Tapestry Bell Pull with Cast Brass Handle
Attributed to the Corona Decor Company, this traditional decorative bell pull features a machine-woven tapestry band. The design is composed of a central cream-coloured band decorated with a repeating pattern of roses and mixed flowers in shades of pink, yellow, and blue, bordered by two wider bands of navy blue with a smaller floral and foliate motif. The pull terminates in a pointed end and is fitted with an ornate cast brass handle at the top, displaying scrolling acanthus and shell motifs and topped with a small red tassel. The textile is backed with a dark fabric, likely wool or cotton. Items of this type were common in late Victorian and Edwardian interiors for summoning household staff. Two orange numbered stickers are attached to the lower section of the band.
Condition report:
The item is in good vintage condition. The cast brass hardware shows expected surface tarnish and patina commensurate with age. The tapestry fabric remains sound without significant tears, stains, or fraying, though light fading and surface wear are evident.
