Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

This lot features a small cloisonne enamel vessel and two vintage printed tinplate containers. The cloisonne vessel, likely a teapot or incense burner, is of globular form with an arched handle and is decorated in the thousand butterflies pattern. This motif includes numerous polychrome butterflies and chrysanthemums set against a black ground with goldstone or aventurine inclusions. This style of enamel work is characteristic of Japanese Meiji period production. The vessel is constructed on a copper-alloy base. The cylindrical tin features a domed lid with floral motifs within blue and white geometric borders. The rectangular tin is finished in a dark red colour with a faded central crest. White and orange auction lot labels are adhered to the items.

Condition report:

The cloisonne vessel is in good overall condition with some oxidation and wear to the metal rims and handle. Both tins show significant age-related wear, including surface rust, paint loss, and scratches.
