A collection of five assorted walking sticks and canes dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The group includes two sticks with knob-style pommels, one in a plain, rounded white metal and the other featuring embossed foliate and scrollwork decoration. Three canes feature curved crook-style handles, likely crafted from horn or polished hardwood. Two of these crook handles are fitted with decorative white metal collars featuring embossed floral and scroll motifs. The shafts are constructed from various hardwoods, including an ebonised black example and others with honey-brown and dark mahogany finishes. The metal components are characteristic of silver or silver-plated mounts common to British canes of this era, although individual hallmarks are not clearly legible from visual inspection. No hidden system features or gadgets are observed.
Condition report:
The items are in used vintage condition. There is surface tarnish and oxidation present on all metal pommels and collars. The wooden shafts show general signs of age and wear including scuffing, minor scratches, and small indentations. One metal pommel has a small adhesive orange auction label attached. The group is currently secured together with a plastic zip-tie.
