Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

This lot consists of two pieces of vintage glazed stoneware kitchenware. The first item is a large, wide-bodied storage crock featuring a domed lid with a central button-style knob finial. It is finished with a rich, glossy dark brown glaze over the upper portion and lid, transitioning to a matte terracotta-coloured clay body towards the base. The second item is a circular lidded cooking vessel, resembling a French tripiere or tripe pot, featuring integrated lug handles on the body. The body is finished in a glossy dark brown glaze, while the flat lid is unglazed terracotta and is pierced with five circular steam vent holes around a central knob handle. Both items exhibit a functional, utilitarian design characteristic of early 20th-century European stoneware. No maker’s marks or capacity stamps are clearly visible on either piece. Orange lot stickers are present on the lids, with one marked 139.

Condition report:

Both items appear to be in good used condition. The storage crock shows minor surface wear and small glaze skips consistent with production and age. The vented pot shows some light staining and surface marks on the unglazed lid. No significant chips, cracks, or repairs are visible to the exterior surfaces.
