Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

This lot comprises two pieces of copper hollowware, likely of British manufacture and dating from the late Victorian or Edwardian period. The first item is a copper pitcher or ewer featuring a bulbous body that tapers to a narrower neck with a flared pouring spout. It is fitted with a large, sweeping copper handle attached at the rim and the shoulder. The second item is a cylindrical copper lidded vessel, possibly a dairy pail or ale muller, featuring a stepped base and a slightly domed lid with a central loop handle. This vessel is equipped with a tall, upright wrought iron handle secured to the body by two heart-shaped copper brackets with rivets. Both items exhibit hand-assembled construction with visible soldered seams. No maker marks or hallmarks are visible, although two small orange adhesive labels are present on the exterior surfaces.

Condition report:

Both items are in a condition consistent with age and domestic use. There is a natural aged patina across the copper surfaces with some areas of darker oxidation and small spots of verdigris, particularly around the rim and lid of the cylindrical vessel. Minor surface scratches and small indentations are present. The wrought iron handle shows some surface oxidisation. There are no significant dents or structural damage.
