Lot 110: A Cased Three Piece Silver Plated Condiment Set
A cased three piece condiment set in the Neo-Queen Anne style, likely silver plated. The set consists of a mustard pot with a hinged lid, thumbpiece, and simple loop handle; a baluster-shaped pepperette with a decorative pierced shaker top; and an open salt cellar fitted with a cobalt blue glass liner. Each vessel features a rounded body supported by four scrolling legs terminating in pad feet. The set is accompanied by three condiment spoons. One spoon is incised with the mark MADE IN ENGLAND on the reverse of the handle. Small rectangular marks are present on the bodies of the salt cellar and pepperette, though they are not clearly legible. The items are presented in a fitted rectangular case with a red velvet-lined interior and a grey and white patterned exterior.
Condition report:
The pieces show surface tarnishing and light wear consistent with age and regular use. One spoon is currently attached to the mustard pot handle with string. The cobalt blue glass liner appears intact with no visible chips or cracks. The presentation case shows some external scuffing and wear to the corners, but the interior lining remains well-preserved.
