An Anglo-Indian style rectangular serving tray constructed from a dark hardwood, possibly rosewood. The piece features extensive and intricate white bone inlay across the entire interior surface. The decorative scheme is centred around a large lozenge-shaped panel filled with dense foliate and floral scrolls. This central panel is framed by several concentric borders consisting of geometric patterns, including diamonds, chevrons, and stylized vine motifs. The raised side rails are further embellished with a repeated inlaid leaf pattern. No maker’s marks, hallmarks, or signatures are visible. An orange sticker with the handwritten number 51 is present in the upper right corner.
Condition report:
The tray is in good overall condition, showing typical minor surface wear and light scratches consistent with age and domestic use. The bone inlay appears to be largely intact with no major losses or lifting observed. No structural damage or evidence of professional restoration is visible.
