Lot 19: An Arts & Crafts Style Silver-Plated Planished Pedestal Bowl
An early 20th-century pedestal bowl or tazza designed in the Arts & Crafts style. The circular bowl is characterised by a planished interior surface, showing evidence of hand-hammering. It is fitted with two small C-shaped loop handles at the rim. The bowl is mounted on a tapering circular stem which terminates in a stepped square base. The item is constructed from a silver-plated base metal. No maker’s marks or hallmarks are visible on the exterior surfaces shown. Two adhesive labels are attached to the side of the bowl.
Condition report:
The bowl is in a heavily tarnished condition with significant surface oxidation throughout. There is a prominent dark, irregular patch in the centre of the bowl\'s interior, which may represent a point of old repair, localized corrosion, or heavy residue. The base and stem show areas of pitting and wear to the silver plating.
